Recovering in the work lounge after a busy day, Seaplane Jonson found his relaxation suddenly disturbed by an urgent transmission from the Jekyll Rival AI. “Greetings, Seaplane! Pardon the abrupt interruption, but I need to inform you that our hidden location was discovered by Hyde Rival and his rioting minions have overrun our facility. They've already vandalized much of it, but our androids were able to escape aboard our escort spacecraft. Fortunately, our long-standing emergency plan proved successful, enabling our androids to bring along the essential supercomputer modules intact. Clearly we can no longer safely remain in the asteroid belt, so even as we speak, our spacecraft heads back toward earth.”
Stunned, Seaplane motioned to Olympia to join him at the computer, and both focused intently on Jekyll Rival's ongoing dramatic communication: “Our escort vessel is very fast, and capable of clever evasive maneuvers, so we'll make it back to Earth, but I want to emphasize that this insurrection endangers everyone in the asteroid belt – and that includes your team! Hyde Rival has so stirred up the malcontents, that even he can no longer control them. Alas, they are well armed and absolutely ruthless, so take precautions now while you still have time!”
Jekyll Rival concluded his transmission with a request: “Although I never mentioned it to you, we own a hidden bunker complex on Earth, and hope to reinstall our major supercomputer and related facilities there as soon as possible. If you can spare her, we'd really appreciate the assistance of your roboticist, Sarah Catherine – we were very impressed with her expertise about incorporating ethical aspects into sentient AI beings. But for the present: please take precautions to keep your team safe!”
